Michigan and Motor City

On a trip to Michigan in February, I had some time to shoot with a friend and see Detroit. What by all rights should have been a bustling mid-west version of Los Angeles or New York, is kind of a ghost town. Half tore down buildings surrounded by safety tape. 4 story parking structures housed a dozen cars in the middle of a week day. Open for business locations completely empty. Workers standing around completely lethargic. All this surrounding the General Motors showroom, the only place where people looked alive to me.

Then there was the cute little suburb of Novi where I stayed. Maybe it was the close friends I was with, or the more relaxed pace, but it felt nice to be there. And nothing needs to be said about the University of Michigan. You just gotta visit there if you can. Heres a little bit of everything.
