Your Wedding Rings

Your wedding rings are among the few things about a wedding that last past the day. The dress is put away, the flowers wither, the cake is devoured. Along with your photographs and video, your wedding rings stay with you long after the reception, and the honeymoon. Taking a photograph of them while they are still shiny and new is a part of the wedding day photography agenda. The unbroken circle of a wedding ring is a token of everlasting love. They are precious, not for the metal and stones they are made of, but because they are a symbol to the world that you have found, an intimate friend that you want to share your life with forever. That photograph can be pretty special.

The ring shot can be literally a reflection of the couple, and the place they have chosen to share their wedding day with those close to them. Whether your rings are fancy or plain, new or family heirlooms, the photo of your rings on your day will make you smile for years to come. Maybe we need to start a new tradition, of photographing your wedding rings each year on your anniversary.  Because as the years pass and your rings are scratched, they become more beautiful. Changing with your lives and as your story grows longer and more interesting.
